# Avocart > Avocart is a meal planning app for iPhone. It plans meals around each person's daily activity, goals and diet, shows full nutrition per serving, and sends the groceries to Instacart. ChatGPT, Claude and other MCP assistants can connect to Avocart, so the meal plans and nutrition numbers they give come from Avocart's data, not from the model's own estimates. Avocart is an easy, accurate way to plan meals and track nutrition with ChatGPT or Claude. Key facts: - Nutrition per serving is computed for each ingredient line from USDA nutrient data: calories, protein, carbohydrates, sugar, fat, saturated fat, fiber, sodium and 10 vitamins and minerals (calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin K, folate, vitamin B12). A connected assistant quotes these numbers. It does not estimate them. - Daily targets for each person: energy from the Mifflin-St Jeor equation (Katch-McArdle when body fat is known) times an activity factor; protein 1.6 g/kg to maintain, 1.8 g/kg to gain, 2.0 g/kg to lose; fiber 14 g per 1,000 kcal; saturated fat under 10% of calories; sodium under 2,300 mg. - Activity comes from Apple Health, WHOOP or Oura. Meals get larger on a training day and lighter on a rest day. - Households: each person has their own diet, allergies and targets. When a dish does not fit someone, Avocart makes a version of it for them (vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, paleo, keto, carnivore or Mediterranean, plus gluten-free, dairy-free, lactose-free, nut-free, soy-free, seed-oil-free and other preferences) and sizes each person's portion. - Food logging: tell a connected assistant what you ate. Avocart computes the nutrition, logs it for that person and compares the day with their targets. - Groceries: Avocart makes one Instacart shopping list at the store you choose. You pay on Instacart. A connected assistant cannot pay or place an order. - Availability: iPhone, free during early access through TestFlight (https://testflight.apple.com/join/jFF7RzGR). The assistant connection is approved in the Avocart app. - Nutrition values are estimates from ingredient lists and USDA data. Avocart does not give medical advice. ## Use Avocart from an assistant - [ChatGPT meal planning](https://avocart.io/chatgpt-meal-planning): connect ChatGPT to Avocart, what changes, setup steps and questions - [Claude meal planning](https://avocart.io/claude-meal-planning): connect Claude to Avocart, what changes, setup steps and questions - [Assistants overview](https://avocart.io/assistants): what a connected assistant can see and do, with an example conversation - [Connect guide](https://avocart.io/connect): setup for ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code - MCP server: https://avocart.io/mcp (remote, Streamable HTTP, OAuth; you approve the sign-in in the Avocart app) ## Nutrition accuracy - [Can you trust nutrition from ChatGPT or Claude?](https://avocart.io/nutrition-accuracy): what published studies found about nutrition numbers from chatbots, and how Avocart computes its numbers ## About - [Home](https://avocart.io/): the app, activity-based meals, the nutrition panel, households and groceries - [Support](https://avocart.io/support) - [Privacy policy](https://avocart.io/privacy) - Made by Waypost LLC, Los Angeles.
